What you’re passionate right now, may not be your true passion

I can relate to this.

I was an Analyst in the banking industry. My skill is in analysis (I’m good at it) but my passion is in teaching and coaching others. Although this passion was not directly related to my job, but unconsciously, I have been volunteering to teach, coach and mentor the junior staff.

Because of the isolation caused by the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic, I wasn’t able to teach, coach or mentor as much as before. And that made me realised that I didn’t love my real job (in analysis) as much as I’m good at it.

It had me realised that it is important to know what your true passion(s) is/are, because it drives your purpose in life.

Eventhough you may love your job, your true passion may not be directly related to your work, but there may be some elements of it that is related to your job. Sometimes your true passions are masked within the job role that you’re currently handling and once you’re unable to live this passion anymore, you will start feeling miserable in your job (and you wonder why, because your role hasn’t changed much).

Now if you know me or if you’ve joined some of my free webinars, you may notice that I have the ability to see the potential in others. And if you talk to me enough, I can help you discover your true passion through my coaching sessions.

[Mind you, my ability to see the potential in others is not a magically-god-given ability. This ability was built from my past experience as an Analyst, which helps me to improve my ability to discern and ask the right questions.]
