Person: “What? You can’t do a Headstand? But you’re a Yoga Instructor. What do you teach then?”

Me: (smile) Mental therapy and emotional healing.

Person: *looks confused and walked away*

Judgement. Stereotyping. Labelling.

That’s what majority of us are afraid of.

Because it makes us believe that “we’re not good enough”.

But you see, I didn’t master the Headstand because it’s not of my interest to do so. And I spent my time, money and effort in learning and taking courses on mental therapy instead. Because my purpose is to help people heal mentally and emotionally.

Headstand is not my immediate goal to achieve my purpose. And I can master it if I put my heart and effort into it. In fact, all of us can, unless we have physical disabilities that prevent us from doing so.

Regardless of what people think of you, you don’t need to follow societal expectations.

Yes, you may lose some people because of this. But guess what, you'll also find your community of like-minded people that will support and uplift you.

Live your passion, turn it into a purpose and pursue what is required to achieve it.
